7th, 2011
The Westin Ottawa, 11 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa, Ontario
Performance, Predictability and Proactivity
The theme of CCAT’s 27th Annual Conference is based on three
“Ps” that provide a clear vision for tribunal excellence
– Performance, Predictability and Proactivity.
Tribunal performance means that the tribunal is accountable for quality
and for productivity. The Performance plenary and workshops will consider
issues such as performance evaluations, service standards and other
means of achieving excellence.
Tribunal predictability in decisions and case processes requires consistency
and communications, and this will guide everyone to act in an efficient
and fully-informed manner. The Predictability plenary and workshops
will consider issues such as cohesive reasons, pre-hearing disclosure
and privacy expectations.
Tribunal proactivity means that more issue will be settled earlier
and the tribunal will have more control of the process. The Proactivity
plenary and workshops will focus on issues such as better communications
and stakeholder relationships, running a focused hearing, proactive
pre-hearing processes and innovative use of technology.
The CCAT Conference is the highlight for Canada’s administrative
justice community, with over 300 participants from federal, provincial
and territorial tribunals and agencies. It is an event that helps to
define the administrative justice community in Canada, and it is an
invaluable opportunity to learn best practices, to network and to keep
updated with the latest trends and concerns.
The detailed conference program will be available in late February
early March 2011.
We look forward meeting you at the conference!
